MOBILE HOMOWNERS INSURANCE EXPLAINED
A Mobile Homeowners Policy is a package type of policy, which
means that it includes protection against several types of losses.
Our policy includes coverage for the following items.
These are our own definitions. The actual policy itself should be read for
exact coverage, definitions, and exclusions.
THE MOBILE HOME
The coverage pays claims for damage to your Mobile Home.
Your mobile home is covered for an actual
cash value up to $NumberValue$
THE UNATTACHED
STRUCTURES
This coverage pays claims for damage to structures not attached to your
mobile home, such as garages, sheds, workshops,
patios, etc. These structures are covered for values up to $TotalOtherStructures$.
THE PERSONAL
PROPERTY
This coverage pays claims for damage to the
contents of your mobile home. The contents have been quoted on a replacement cost
basis. This means that losses to your personal property are insured for
replacement value with no deduction for depreciation. As an example, if
your television is destroyed in a fire, the policy will pay for a new television
of equal quality and features less your deductible.
Your personal property is covered for a total
replacement cost value of $TotalPersonalProperty$
THE PERSONAL
PROPERTY ITEMS WITH LIMITS
Certain personal property has specified
limits of coverage, and to increase the limits, additional premium is
charged. The following are some common items that have special limits and should be checked by
you. Limits should be increased if needed:
1. $250 limit for money, bank notes, bullion, gold,
silver, coins, and metals.
2. $1000 limit for securities, passports, tickets &
stamps.
3. $1000 limit for watercraft, including their trailers,
furnishings, equipment, and outboard motors.
4. $1000 limit for trailers not used with watercraft.
5. $1000 limit for loss by theft of jewelry, watches,
furs, precious and semi-precious stones.
6. $2500 limit for loss by theft of firearms.
7. $2500 limit for loss by theft of silverware,
goldware, and pewterware. This includes most items that are metal plated.
8. $2500 limit on property on your premises, used
at any time or in any manner for any business purpose.
THE PERILS YOU ARE INSURED FOR
Your mobile home,
other structures and personal property have been quoted under a “special” form of property
coverage. This is the best coverage available from most insurance companies. It
includes all perils shown below plus any other peril not excluded in the policy.
Fire or Lightning
Windstorm or Hail
Explosion
Riot or Civil Commotion
Aircraft
Vehicles
Smoke
Vandalism or Malicious Mischief
Breakage of Glass
Theft or Attempted Theft
Falling Objects
Volcanic Eruption
Weight of Ice, Snow or Sleet
Sudden and accidental cracking, burning, or bulging of heating or air conditioning systems
if not caused by freezing.
Your policy will have a $numberded$ deductible for each loss you may have on the property coverage
on all perils except windstorm or hail. Windstorm or hail deductible is $numberhail$
THE LOSS OF USE
In the event you could not live in your mobile home after an insured peril occurs,
this coverage pays claims for temporary living quarters while you are waiting for repair work to be
completed. You would also have necessary increased expenses for food and laundry
paid for as well. The maximum limit of this coverage is $LossOfUse$
FAMILY PERSONAL LIABILITY
This coverage pays claims for bodily injury
or property damage for which you are legally responsible. This coverage normally
excludes auto and business related claims.
You would be covered up to $dollarliab$ for each accident that happens during the year.
Claims examples would be:
You injure someone in a hunting accident.
Your child breaks someone else’s window
with a baseball.
Someone is injured in or around your home.
This coverage also provides defense at the insurance
company’s expense for personal lawsuits brought against you, even if that suit
is groundless, false, or fraudulent.
THE MEDICAL PAYMENTS COVERAGE
Another coverage included is for medical payments to a non-policy holder. Medical payments can be made to
others for up to a $medpay$ limit per person. This will often prevent going to court to see whose "fault" it was. The
amount paid
to others will cover many minor accidents, regardless of who was responsible.
If there is a serious accident on your
property, and you are legally responsible, your personal liability coverage will
take over with the limit quoted of $dollarliab$.
